Those are series titled 'Close Up.' I started the series from 2009 and still on going. I'm still working on the top one with oil colors, and hope can end this in April. I will post up the final on my blog when I finished. Hm.. I should make a personal arts section in my web site!

Hi everyone!!! It's been long time to post up things, and finally here it goes! Currently I'm working on Children's book illustration which will be published in 2010. It's about poems about alphabet, and the upper image is 'T' - turkey and turtle.

Well, it is a time to rediscover the alluring face! I painted the face for my first OCAD thesis piece, The Prayer for the Drowning, but I had to use a different face in the illustration because the face itself was too popped up in the image! So this time, I wanted to use the face that has abstracted eyes with tightly closed lips somehow. I think the image is extracted well from my head! I will print it and bring to Greenavi next week! The real size is 25"x20", but will be printed in the size of 18"x12"

Next my solo show at Greenavi cafe located in Queen west and Denison ave. I'm showing three paintings, Runners, Notion of Life, and Close up 01, and 7 illustrations. I love to have a show at a cafe because, for me, it is a good opportunity to show my works surrounding audience's daily life. (It's getting delayed, sorry, guys!)

Fire me up' The illustration is to show how I draw a body with watercolors. I use photoshop to collect things, but I'm trying not to over touch with the computer program. The upper image is original painting with ink and watercolors. (See how it differ from the image from my web site)

Okay, it's time to go back to what I wanted to do. "FASHION illustration!!" I don't take any references for those illustrations, and I guess that's why it's so hard to extract images. I often find images from my drawings or ink stains which are happened spontaneously. I found two images from one drawing for this illustration, Paradise. Upper one is with colorful hat and the other with a necklace. I put a Korean poem written by Yoon Dong Joo in 1941 beside by the illustration to have mood of quietness.

I think I have insomnia recently. Well, I guess that's why I met Mr.Nightmare in my dream last night. He was kind but very scary. The girl should have orange hair in the final illustration, but I didn't like the white ribbon which means 'death of family member' in where I lived, so I changed it to red with pink hair.

I designed Francisco's goat! He gave me plain goat made of plastic, I believe, at the end of semester last month. I had a time to design it to my golden goat today! :0 I'm totally loving the outcome. haha Thanks, Francisco!
